Lighty up electric window switches.

Everything that doesn't belong in the previous categories probably belongs here. Interiour (how are the seats mounted? how to remove the CEM?) and exteriour (how to replace the popup-lights shock absorbers or a door) are discussed here!

oh... yeah, I know about that... I thought there was a way of getting the windows to go up without keeping your finger on the switch then.

Oh, well, I don't need to worry about that either.....however, I have had to swap them back as amy's windows wouldn't work at all with my switches in... quite hard to sell it like that.....

So, only a viable option for those of us with CEM's 0, I and II then.

Illuminated Electric Window Switch

Postby 3023 » Mon Nov 09, 2009 8:26 pm

Hi
I've recently illuminated the switches in my Turbo, with no loss of Total Closure or the Toll Booth function. They've been working for at least 6 months now with no problems at all. The only thing is the drivers switch bulb goes out during the Toll Booth function. It comes back on again after the CEM switches the power off (less than 30 secs). Doesn't harm the car in any way.

I got a set of switches from an 850, but they didn't work. So I took the switches apart and they are very similar inside. I thought I could remove the bulb/LED section of the 850 ones, and re-solder it into the 480 one.
It was a little fiddly, but well worth messing about with it.
The switches even stay lit for a while after the car is locked as the CEM provides power in case you forgot to close the windows. I have some photos if anyone wants to see.[/img]

Let me know your email, and I'll send some pics across.
I haven't got a site for hosting my photos set up yet.
Cheers Kerry
